I do not have a garbage disposal but I do compost. I have vowed to use less plastic this year. I am more likely to not throw away regenerable items if I can collect them while cooking. Plastic bags inserted into a bowl so they stay open work but then you have to throw away the plastic bag or wash it out yuck.

I only searched because I found it UNBELIEVABLE that there area actually people paying $15 to $20 Plus Shipping to get a plastic bowl to throw garbage in - the funniest part is then you have an extra thing to wash - just use a plastic bag you get for free in just about every store and throw it away!!!!! My favorite story has always been The Emporors New Clothes - however I guess its not just a fairy tale any more. I think Rachel Ray should be ashamed of herself!!!!!!!!!

The reason I searched for Rachel Ray's Garbage Bowl is because I won one in the nabiscocracker.com contest online and I didn't know what it was.
I was hoping it was a large salad bowl or snack bowl, but I guess you could use it for that, too?

It's the retro thing. Everyone can remember a bowl like Rachel's in their own mothers kitchen. And, having a "GB" is a pretty good time saver. So what could be cooler than having a bowl like Moms and Rachels?
