With a pending trip to Las Vegas coming in April I took it upon myself to research locations of my favorite fast food, hot dogs. I came across an article in the Las Vegas Weekly that caught my eye “The Best of the Wurst“. Since I was in Vegas on business, my time to explore all of the places listed in this article was limited. So I searched out a few I knew I could get to and planned my week accordingly. What follows is a brief tour of Las Vegas Hot Dogs.
Mr. Hotdog
An old favorite of mine, Mr. Hotdog has expanded from its Flamingo location to a couple of more places on the strip. Mr. Hotdog serves Sabrett brand dogs with an eastern flair. Their menu offers topping combinations that cover New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. Pictured are a pair of New York Dogs with Onion Sauce, a Kraut Dog and Mexican Dog.
Chicago Tasty Dogs
Located on the east side of town, this place took us a while to locate. It is hidden behind blue awnings in a little food court area of a large shopping mall. I would have to say that this place was the best of the bunch. Great dogs (Vienna), fresh toppings and great fries. On the left we have a Jumbo Fire Dog Chicago Style and on the right a Polish Sausage with
onions & hot peppers.
This place has a real Chicago feel. The dogs selection was classic and the toppings varied. Featuring Vienna brand all beef dogs of course. Housed in an old drive in restaurant the walls are festooned with Chicago memorabilia. My co-worker and I tried a wide selection. Starting at 12 o’clock and going around the table; Chili Dog with cheese, Jordan Dog (hot and spicy)
with Chicago toppings, Kraut Dog and Chicago Dog.
Jodi Maroni’s Sausage Kingdom
I KNEW that I was going to be able to try this place because it is located in the D concourse of the Vegas airport and my
Northwest flight home was in that concourse. What makes Jodi Maroni’s unique is its variety of tubular meat. Not just Hot Dogs but a nice selection of sausages as well. Pictured at the top is their Breakfast Sandwich, a combination of egg, Andouille sausage, salsa and cheddar cheese. To the left a Louisiana Boudin Hot Link with onions and peppers and the bottom a Chicken Andouille with peppers and onions. All on onion rolls.

Wow I was just looking for some Vegas hot dog places. I never thought I’d find something like this. Thanks. I know what I’m going to be doing while my wife gambles.
Does anyone in this town do foot-long, hard casing dogs, like Sinbad’s in Reno, or The Wienery, Wiener Works, or Parker’s in Sacramento?
This market is really missing out. Maybe it’s time I finally implemented the hot dog restaurant idea that I’ve had for over a decade.
Serendipity at Caesers Palace Las Vegas
I see some of these dates are pre 2007, In July of 2007 a new hot dog reataurant opened in Las Vegas on the North West Corner of Craig Rd. & Jones in north west Las Vegas. I have eaten every hot dog place Las Vegas has to offer & I think this new restaurant is the best. Old fasion natural cased dogs that are only cooked on a grill, never boiled and limp, a snap when you bite’em their unbeliveable. The restaurent is designed like a classic American Diner, Right down to the real wood floor, super clean, and full service just sit down and get your order taken at the table! At a Hot Dog Restaurant! I eat there now 2 to 3 times a week and I still haven’t had every thing on the large menu, Draft Beer at night is only 99 cents a glass, thats right they have beer too. You got to try it. Famous Uncle Al’s Hot Dogs & Grille I think you will be sold as I have been. I find my self driving clear across town to eat there.
You guys must try Sammys Dog House. A blue and white building on the Northwest corner of Flamingo and Decatur. They have by far the best dogs in Vegas. you all must be from out of town not to know this. They have amazing sandwiches and garlic fries too.

Nathens at the MGM has the caseing that goes crunch. They also have locations in some other casinos
Serendipity 3 also does great hotdogs.
