Fall Fiesta
Have you ever noticed that as you get into the fall, the produce becomes deeper and richer in color? Fall is my favorite season, and much of the reason for that lies in the colors that it brings out. Deep oranges and reds in the flowers, the leaves turn to their rich autumn colors, and the produce follows suit.
In our produce box today we had purple cauliflower, green broccoflower, red onions, red, yellow and orange peppers, purple kohlrabi, deep purple eggplant, yellow-fleshed potatoes, and red, yellow and orange tomatoes. But the most unique thing of all were the colored carrots, in reds, golds and yellow.
It’s going to be a colorful cooking week!
