Rico, I am not a very big believer in the need for everything you cook to be "gourmet". Whimsical is fun, often!

And funny you should mention the "Hamburgers Hot Dogs" example - here in Wisconsin, where I live, we are VERY fond of combining Hamburgers and Bratwursts into one sandwich ;)

Bolognese Carbonara????? I am Italian and this recipe makes me absolutely shocked!!
Bolognese is a very distinct type of pasta and Carbonara also. Both excellent in their own merit. It's about as saying "Hamburgers Hot Dogs!! Why don't you just follow the good Italian recipes and don't try to re-invent the wheel?!
If you want to make a pasta potpourri just throw anything in but don't try to give it a ridiculous name. Good luck with your "GOURMET DISHES"!!!!

I went to Roys last night for the first time and had the Hawaiian martini. First thing this morning, started googling to find the recipe! Thank you so much for posting this. I will most certainly be making this mix when I get home. :)

Agree with Dan. That's how I do a sirloin tip roast. I make holes in the roast with a knife before roasting and put in garlic hunks and fresh rosemary with a little olive oil. The key here is to make sure the roast is room temperature. I actually do six minutes per pound. Never open the oven door and let the heat out during that two hour period.

I was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, but all of my family is from the Louisville area of Kentucky. My Grandmother used to make this as a dessert. She would use biscuits from the night before and break them up to use for dessert. I would come home from school and see her making it, and would want to dive in right away. My husband thinks that my Mom and I are crazy for eating concoctions like this. Thought it was some family recipe that Grandma came up with.

I agree there is nothing like a homegrown tomato picked straight from the vine!
When I was little my family grew tomatoes in our garden. The tomato plants grew to be taller then me. We loved to pick them!!

This caught my eye , not just because of my search for the best roast beef, but Ken's. I live in Monona and when I first moved here I asked around for the best butcher and found him. Any meat that you get there is great no matter how you prepare (unless you have no talent at all)
Anyway..I have done the high temp and then turn off oven every year for my prime rib but am going to try this one today to see if there is any difference.
